IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS

All nationalities must apply for a student visa or residence permit to study in Argentina. According to the current Argentinian Immigration Law, students holding a tourist visa will not be able to study in Argentina.

Once the student receives the Acceptance Letter, they must contact the Consular Office of the Argentine Republic in the place of residence to find out the exact documentation requested and schedule an appointment for processing the corresponding visa.

Please keep in mind that visa procedures may take up to two months. We strongly recommend starting them well in advance to avoid any problem.

Depending on the length of the student stay in Argentina, and his/her place of birth, the student must apply for one of the following types of Visa:

  • Student visa – 365 days: This visa is for studying in the Argentine Republic for a period less than 365 days. Further information in the following link.

  • Student visa + 365 days: This visa is for studying in the Argentine Republic for a period exceeding 365 days. Further information in the following link.

  • Student from MERCOSUR Member or Associate States: This type of visa is available to nationals of MERCOSUR Member or Associate States, for temporary establishment of foreign nationals in the Argentine Republic for a maximum term of 2 (two) years. Further information in the following link.

International students must submit a photocopy of their student visa/residence permit to UCEMA. Otherwise, they will not be able to continue enrolled as exchange students. Students are conditionally enrolled until proof of their residence is submitted.
