Rev. Robert A. Sirico

Rev. Robert A. Sirico is a leading US intellectual, co-founder of the Acton Institute of the United States. Author of various works such as the recent book “Defending the Free Market”, as president of the Acton Institute Sirico is a regular lecturer at universities, schools and business organizations on religious, political, economic and social subjects. He also publishes regularly in prominent media such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, London Financial Times, etc. He has studied at the Catholic University of America, the University of Southern California and the University of London. As Mario Silar pointed out, the defense of economic freedom for Sirico is not a matter for wielding a superfluous vision thinking that the markets in themselves sill solve all society´s problems, but rather that “it is a question of asking: ¿what is freedom for? And to understand this question, you have to understand what man is made for, exploring the complex and delicate relationship between political freedom, economic freedom and religious freedom”. In Sirico´s own words: “The people need jobs, jobs come from the world of business and businesses need economic freedom and opportunities in order to be created”.
