The protection of Human Rights by the European Convention of Human Rights
In this new edition of the Naumann Chair UCEMA, the guest will be the jurist Birgit Daiber who will present the fundamental aspects of the European Convention of Human Rights and the implications this instrument has for the quality of democracy, the protection of rights and the concrete exercise of freedoms. As always, the Naumann Chair will be coordinated by Dr. Lars André Richter, representative of the Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Argentina and in Paraguay.
Birgit Daiber: Dr.jur. (Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München). LL.M.Eur.(Universität des Saarlandes). Associate professor at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Seoul, South Korea. Member of the Board of Editors of the Journal of Law and Legislation edited by the Korea Legislation Research Institute. Visiting researcher and visiting professor at the Vienna University, Austria and the Paris Nanterre University, France. She has also worked as professor and researcher at several universities in Germany and has been a consultant for governmental agencies in that country. Her research activity is carried out in the following areas: legal system of the EU, German constitutional law, European human rights conventions and constitutional history.
