Miguel Gutiérrez
Mr. Gutiérrez has over 30 years of experience in international financial markets, with the majority of this time dedicated to emerging markets. He joined JPMorgan in 1980, serving in several responsibilities in Argentina, Spain, UK, Japan and New York. Since 1993 he was the Head of European Proprietary Trading in London, and since 1996 he was the Global Head of Emerging Markets in NY until he retired in 2001 after 21 years of service. He was also a co-founder of The Rohatyn Group in 2002, and he joined the company in 2004.Today he is Co CIO, with responsibilities on private equity and credit investments in Asia, CEMEA and LATAM.
In addition, Mr. Gutiérrez served as the Chairman and CEO of the Telefónica Group in Argentina from 2001 to 2003 and Chairman of Grupo Concesionario del Oeste S.A from 2001 to 2004. He also served as the Chairman of YPF S.A. from April 2016 to December 2019.
Internationally, he has served on the advisory board of Telefonica International, Spain (2004 – 2015), Abertis Board of Directors, Spain (2004 – 2015), Telesp Board of Directors, Brazil (2005 – 2011), and the Board of Grupo Assa, Spain (2010 – 2020); having several responsibilities in each of those boards, being member and Chairman of the Audit, Human Resources, and Public Affairs Committees over the years.
As Chairman of YPF S.A., he was Chair of the Argentina B20 Energy, Resource Efficiency and Sustainability (ERES) Taskforce in 2018. The ERES wishes to commit the global business community and the G20 leaders to pursue accelerated transitions towards a low carbon, sustainable and equitable energy future as mandated by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
And was also of the Chairman of CEADS (Argentine Business Council for Sustainable Development, 2019-2020) In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Climate Agreement and Vision 2050, the Council and member companies accelerate the development of business solutions for challenges with environmental Management; legal & compliance; energy & climate, corporate social responsibility and inclusive business.
