Carl Schmitt and liberalism
On Monday 13 September the third internal UCEMA Friedman Hayek Center workshop will be held, this time with Dr. Andrés Rosler, who will speak about his next book on Carl Schmitt. p>
He is a lawyer (UBA), Master in Political Science (FLACSO) and Doctor of Law (Oxford). Currently he is a Professor of Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UBA and researcher at the CONICET. He is part of the Academic Committee of the Master in Political Science and Sociology FLACSO. He is member of the editorial board of Deus Mortalis. He has taught courses and seminars in various Argentine and foreign universities, among which are: FLACSO Argentina, Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Universidad Di Tella, Universidad de San Andrés, Florida International University (Miami), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre) and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (París). His main areas of study are political theory and law from a historical-conceptual point of view. His present research revolves around the thesis of autonomy of the political and its projections on the authority of law and political violence. He has published “Razones públicas. Seis conceptos básicos sobre la república”, “La ley es la ley. Autoridad e interpretación en la filosofía del derecho”, “Thomas Hobbes, Elementos filosóficos”, “Derecho Natural y Sociología. Tönnies y la filosofía política del teorema comunidad y sociedad” and “Political Authority and Obligation in Aristotle”.
Gabriel J. Zanotti: Director Académico del UCEMA Friedman Hayek Center for the Study of a Free Society . Es Profesor y Licenciado en Filosofía por la Universidad del Norte Santo Tomás de Aquino (UNSTA) y Doctor en Filosofía, Universidad Católica Argentina. Es Profesor de la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad Austral, profesor de grado y posgrado en la Universidad del Cema, Director Académico del Instituto Acton Argentina y profesor visitante de la Universidad Francisco Marroquín de Guatemala.
